I assume you obviously mean 'You better not love me' is awesome and 'Eel pie' is very questionable (what the hell were they thinking putting this so soon in the running order of the CD?). But you mean to say you don't like the title track? I thought it was a good one. The requiem version is no good and I don't like the foreign track either. Like I said in my first impression, 'You better not love me,' 'Sweet mystery' and especially ' Dirty Black Night' really stood out for me on first listen, but I'm dying for my 2nd spin. Consistent band with Lewis on vocals and they've delivered the good here. Upon a 2nd spin, "Hollywood Forever" sounded much better than the first spin. The rest is pretty good with my favorites being "You Better Not Love Me", "Dirty Black Night", and "Requiem". A few that were so-so are "Crazy Tango", "Queenie", and "I Won't Play". In regards to "Requiem", I like it until they go into the "Hollywood Forever" reprise which was totally unnecessary.Ī definite step backwards from the awesome "Tales From The Strip" IMO.Īnd the pointless foreign track lowers the score for this also. That so called "pointless foreign track" is actually a marketing ploy. Guns (Phil) is planning on playing Latin America and Spanish speaking countries this summer. It was recorded to get airplay in some of these countries where L.A. It has apparently worked as it has already charted in many of these Spanish speaking countries. You can't blame a band for marketing itself any way it can. It seems like this may work out really well for the band in the long run. Guns su bili vezani uz grupu Hollywood Rose, koja se smatra prvom postavom Guns N' Rosesa, a sam Tracii bio je 1985. Guns N' Roses, kako je poznato, postali su ultra popularni bend, dok, barem po popularnosti, L.A.Gunas su ostali daleko iza Guns N' Rosesa.
Gunsi su bili jedan kvalitetan glam metal bend, koji je uvijek imao svoje fanove. U različitim postavama, postajali su do 2002. Zaštitni znakovi ovog benda su bili Tracii Guns i Phil Lewis (pjevač). Guns se dijele na dva dijela Phil Lewis's L.A. Kakve i kolike su netrpeljivosti između ova dva glazbenika, nije toliko bitno, koliko je bitno da je samo njihovo razdvajanje žalosno. »Hollywood Forever« je četvrti album Lewisove verzije »L.A. Gunsa su: »Rips Off the Covers« (2004.), »Tales from the Strip« (2005.) ✼overed in Guns« (2010.). Na »Hollywood Forever« uz Phila su i Stacey Blades (gitara, sa Philom od 2004.

»Hollywood Forever« globalno možemo nazvati tipičnim L.A.Guns albumom s britkom i virtuoznom Bladesovom gitarom. »Hollywood zauvijek« jest tipičan album, u smislu nastavka onog što L.A. Ne radi se o povratku starom zvuku, već se radi o koraku naprijed. Koliko će se publici svidjeti taj maleni korak naprijed ne može se sa sigurnošću znati. Na prvo slušanje album se ne čini ništa posebno, ipak nakon nekoliko preslušavanja uviđaju se kvalitete ovog albuma. Ono što se ističe to je, kao i uvijek, Philov karakterističan glas i kvalitetno pjevanje, te Bladesovo gitarsko umijeće. Pjesma po kojoj je album dobio ime je obećavajuća i na prvo slušanje.
